Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric care at the Charlotte site. The role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, performing POCT, and coordinating lab tasks while maintaining a clean and compliant work environment.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program credential or equivalent experience, good EMR skills, and strong communication for patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training.
• Experience with EMR systems and basic lab procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and clinic policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, med history, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and POCT.
• Lab duties: venipuncture, labeling, specimen handling.
• Ensures clean, stocked, safe work environment and patient safety.
• Communicates effectively with patients and team members.
