Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military medical training (DD214) in lieu of a formal MA program.
• IL/WI divisions require High School Diploma or GED and completion of MA program or 2 years full-time MA experience in last 5 years.
• Wake Forest: High School Diploma or GED and MA program or EMT.
• Floyd & Navicent: High School Diploma or GED and MA program or 2 years MA experience in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration; handles refills and scheduling.
