Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant for a General Pediatrics clinic (Steele Creek) to join a 40-hour week. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45am–5:00pm, with a pay range of $21.85–$32.80 per hour.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, vitals, history taking, labs, vaccines, and assisting providers. The role requires MA training, High School Diploma or GED, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or clinical military training per DD214 in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, medical history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling and referrals.
• Cross-trained for duties within the department.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and proper equipment function.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and effective communication.
