Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) in Pediatrics. You will deliver high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents and collaborate with families to address concerns.

Responsibilities include neonatal stabilization, care planning, and coordination of discharge planning across NICU/ED settings. The role requires RN licensure in Texas, BLS/NRP/ACLS/PALS certifications, and experience in at least two pediatric or neonatal specialty areas.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as an RN in two or more of these areas: Pediatric ICU, Pediatric ED, Pediatric Med/Surg or Neonatal ICU.
• ADN from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current TX RN license (or Compact) with timely license transfer; BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS per policy.

Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments of newborns.
• Create and revise care plans including discharge planning and evaluate effectiveness.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of infants and communicate changes to NNP or Neonatologist.
• Administer meds and complete treatments per hospital policy.
• Assist transport teams in stabilization and support documentation for transfers.
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, incorporating teaching.
