Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an RN to join its PRN Float Pool in Pediatrics. The role focuses on infant to adolescent care, including neonatal stabilization, discharge planning, and family education.

The nurse will collaborate with Neonatology and Nurse Practitioners to ensure high-quality care across shifts. Qualified candidates will have ADN with pediatric/NICU experience; BSN preferred and Texas RN license, BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications per policy.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as an RN in pediatrics or NICU settings.
• ADN from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise and high-quality care in pediatrics as part of Float Pool.
• Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and newborn assessments.
• Develop and evaluate plans of care including discharge planning.
• Conduct ongoing infant assessments and communicate changes to physicians.
• Administer medications and treatments per hospital policy.
• Support transport teams during stabilization of infants.
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff as appropriate.
• Deliver education and emotional support to patients and families.
