Job summary

Spring Branch Community Health Center in Katy, Texas seeks a Pediatrician to provide direct patient care for patients from birth to age 21, including history review, exams, counseling, and treatment according to protocols, with productivity goals as part of a multidisciplinary health team.

The physician will supervise midlevel providers and students, oversee general pediatric care, and collaborate with the Chief Medical Director and site leadership to support clinic operations and quality care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board to practice in Texas.
• BLS or BLS equivalent certification required.
• One year of experience in a health center or similar setting.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides outpatient medical care in the clinic.
• Maintains medical expertise and competency; delivers quality primary medical care.
• Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients for appropriate specialty care.
• Prescribes medications and recommends other treatments.
• Maintains patient health records per center policies.
• Completes patient charts within 72 hours of visit.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic studies and medical protocols.
• Reviews lab and x-ray reports timely and makes management decisions.
• Collaborates with Medical Director and team to address patient needs.
• Provides supervision and direction to mid-level providers and students.
• Participates in peer review and quality control processes.
• Participates in policy review and improvement initiatives.
• Travels to other clinics to cover for absences when needed.
