Job summary

Spring Branch Community Health Center seeks a Pediatrician to provide comprehensive outpatient care for patients from birth to 21 years. The physician will review history, perform exams, educate families, diagnose and treat, and maintain quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

They will supervise midlevel providers and students, develop protocols, and ensure adherence to safety standards while collaborating with site leadership to advance pediatric services at the center.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical degree from an accredited school.
• Current unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board to practice in Texas.
• BLS or BLS equivalent current.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a health center or similar setting.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides outpatient medical care in the clinic.
• Maintains medical expertise and collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients for appropriate care.
• Prescribes medications and recommends other treatment options.
• Maintains patient records per center policies and timing guidelines.
• Completes patient charts within required timeframes (not exceeding 72 hours).
• Performs and interprets diagnostic studies and medical protocols.
• Reviews labs and x-rays and makes timely medical decisions.
• Refers patients to specialty services and ensures appropriate follow-up care.
• Provides education and support to patients and families.
