Job summary

Mercy Health at St. Rita's Medical Center in Ohio is seeking an on-site Virtual Safety Companion for full-time day shifts (7am–7pm) with every third weekend duty.

The role involves remote patient observation via in-room cameras, with coordination to escalate to bedside staff and ensure safety and timely care. Successful candidates will have BLS within 3 months, prior patient-care exposure, and strong communication with staff, patients, and families.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of hire.
• Patient care experience is preferred.
• On-site work at St. Rita's Medical Center in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation of patients via in-room camera and alert staff as needed.
• Promote patient safety and document in Epic and other systems.
• Participate in hand-offs and escalations at shift start and end.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families using audio devices.
• Follow documented workflows and safety procedures in emergencies.
