Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in patient financial services or insurance processes is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of common office software, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Register/check-in patients and collect signatures as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-certifications or authorizations when required.
• Calculate and collect patient liability and explain financial policies to patients/families.
• Enter payments and charges; reconcile daily transactions and balance cash drawer.
• Schedule visits and procedures; confirm appointments and prepare patients for visits.
• Communicate with care team and patients to optimize patient flow and respond to inquiries.
• Assist with patient records requests and maintain compliance with policies.
• Provide various patient services to help in patient flow, including escorting patients and taking vitals.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely patient care.
