Job summary

Care for Kids is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Pediatric Urgent Care team in Houston, TX. The role focuses on same-day urgent pediatric care across multiple locations within the assigned region, with travel between clinics as needed.

Providers diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of pediatric conditions, perform urgent care procedures, and collaborate with physicians and leadership to ensure high-quality care and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Texas RN/APRN licensure.
• Active national certification as a PNP or FNP.
• Current Texas Physician Assistant license (for PA track).
• Active NCCPA certification (for PA track).
• Minimum 2 years of experience practicing as NP/PA.
• Pediatric urgent care or fast-paced pediatric experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification; PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute pediatric illnesses and injuries.
• Perform urgent care procedures (laceration repair, initial fracture management, splinting, nursemaid's elbow reduction).
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing and imaging.
• Develop and implement treatment plans and coordinate care across locations.
