Job summary

Urgent Care for Kids seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our pediatric urgent care team in the Houston area. You will provide same-day care for acutely ill or injured children in a fast-paced setting across multiple locations within the region.

Applicants must hold Texas NP/PA licensure, national certification (PNP/FNP or NCCPA as applicable), BLS, and PALS within 90 days. Travel between clinics is required to support patient care and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Pediatric clinical experience strongly preferred
• Pediatric urgent care, emergency medicine, or other fast-paced clinical experience preferred
• Current BLS certification and PALS eligibility (PALS within 90 days)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute pediatric illnesses and injuries.
• Perform urgent care procedures including laceration repair, initial fracture management, splinting, and nursemaid's elbow reduction.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing (labs, point-of-care testing, imaging).
• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and episodic conditions.
• Provide education to patients and families and complete documentation in the EHR.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care.
• Travel between clinic locations within the assigned region as needed.
