Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Transport Team at the New Brunswick location. This per diem, night shift role focuses on SCTU/PICU transport within a busy pediatric care environment, emphasizing patient safety, clinical excellence, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate holds an active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications, and 3–5 years in PICU or pediatric transport, with an ADN required and a BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Pediatric Transport and critical care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely with strong clinical judgment
• Coordinate with physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to enhance communication and transitions of care
• Contribute to a collaborative, high‑reliability team with shared accountability
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and career ladders
