Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced APRN/NP to cover Pediatric General Surgery and Otolaryngology (ENT). The role operates nights from 6pm to 7am, providing advanced nursing care and overlapping with physicians per standard care arrangements.

The position includes a starting bonus and requires board-certified NP with Ohio prescriptive authority eligibility. Collaboration with the medical staff and ongoing credentialing are essential components of the role.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in Ohio.
• National NP certification required; prescriptive authority eligible or pending.
• Current BLS certification for Health Care Providers.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex conditions in a high-acuity setting.
• Collaborates with physicians and medical staff to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Orders, interprets tests, and documents patient progress.
• May prescribe medications per Ohio nurse prescriber rules.
• Participates in discharge planning and patient education.
• Maintains credentialing and hospital privileges as required.
• Fulfills FPPE/OPPE requirements for quality care.
