Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Physician Assistant to support Pediatric General Surgery and Otolaryngology (ENT) teams. The role covers inpatient and outpatient care with night shift hours, 6pm–7am, and requires autonomous work under physician supervision.

The PA will perform exams, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications per Ohio policy, and collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant in Ohio with NCCPA certification.
• Master's degree in PA studies or equivalent required/preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously under physician supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions under supervision.
• Practices in inpatient and outpatient settings for pediatric and adult populations within specialty areas.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory tests and other diagnostics as needed.
• Develops diagnoses and treatment plans and prescribes medications within scope and hospital policy.
• Maintains confidentiality and communicates with families and primary care providers.
