Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking an experienced registered nurse to deliver high-quality care in ambulatory and clinical settings. You will work under the Nurse Manager, providing family-centered care and education, while coordinating with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.

Candidate requirements include an ASN/ADN with BSN preferred (BSN within 3 years), CT RN licensure, and BLS/CPR certification. Specialty licensure may be required by department.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred with a plan to pursue or complete BSN within 3 years.
• Current State of Connecticut RN licensure or Nursing Compact License required and maintained.
• BLS/CPR for Providers (AHA/Red Cross) preferred on hire and required within 1 month of hire.
• Specialty licensure/certification may be required based on department.

Responsibilities

• Provide general or specialized nursing care in ambulatory or clinical settings.
• Prioritize and plan direct family-centered care for patients and families.
• Monitor patient status, document care plans and status summaries.
• Educate patients and families, including telephone guidance, per protocols.
• Advocate for parents and families and coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Ensure compliant documentation and delegate care as appropriate.
• Support psychosocial needs of patients, families, and peers.
