Job summary

Connecticut Children's is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct professional care across the patient episode of service. The role emphasizes clinical expertise, documentation, and strong collaboration with families and the care team.

As part of a leading pediatric health system, you will support unit leadership, safety, and education, ensuring care aligns with CCMC standards and policies. ASN is required, BSN within three years is preferred.

Qualifications

• ASN required upon hire; BSN preferred upon hire and required within 3 years of hire.
• Current State of Connecticut RN Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR for adult, child & infant on hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 3 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, clinical standards, and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide direct professional nursing care for patients across the episode of service delivery.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise using the nursing process for patient care.
• Foster effective team dynamics, delegate duties, and support patient and staff safety.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely; communicate with the care team.
• Partner with child and family to evaluate outcomes and educate on care.
• Support CCMC Standards and contribute to the unit's professional development.
