Job summary

Phoenix Children's seeks a Speech Pathologist I to provide pediatric speech-language pathology services from neonatal through adolescence. You will evaluate, plan, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, feeding, and swallowing needs in a family-centered framework.

The role involves age-appropriate therapy planning, collaboration with families and the care team, and adherence to ASHA standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Professional Speech Language Pathology Services
• Evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of diagnoses including speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, feeding, and swallowing.
• Demonstrates knowledge of typical development and uses pediatric-based behavior management strategies to match interventions to child age/ability.
• Establishes treatment plans with age-appropriate, functional, measurable goals with target timeframes.
• Obtains mutual agreement with family/guardian and implements plans of care using prescribed modalities.
• Provides patient/family teaching to maximize function at home/community and home program implementation.
• Maintains standards of care per ASHA, Phoenix Children's policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Builds rapport with physicians, families, and hospital/community personnel; participates in in-service training.
• Supervises rehab technicians and/or students, providing performance feedback.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
