Job summary

Ascension St Vincent in Washington state seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide services to children and families, with emphasis on parent participation and family coaching. You will monitor progress, evaluate qualifications for programs, and develop individualized goals within a collaborative team.

Required are a master’s degree in SLT with CCC-SLP or CFY candidacy, WA licensure, and CPR/First Aid training within 90 days of hire, plus background checks.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology with CCC-SLP certification or CFY candidate
  • Current Washington State licensure
  • Infant and child CPR and first aid and bloodborne pathogens training within 90 days of hire
  • Upon hire pass WA DSHS criminal history and FBI fingerprint checks if not in state for >4 years

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to children and families, encouraging parent participation during treatment
  • Provide parent/family coaching support
  • Monitor treatment progress and evaluate children for program qualification
  • Develop ongoing individualized goals and regular progress reports
  • Participate with team members and provide inter-disciplinary consultations as needed
  • Complete daily treatment notes documenting services rendered
  • Maintain records on each child to monitor progress and mandated reporting
  • Provide daily insurance billing information to facilitate reimbursement
  • Include parents in decision-making at progress reports
  • Monitor caseload with new referrals and staff development
  • Willingness to work closely with families and as part of a team
  • Experience working with young children in clinic, home, or community settings
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Include parents in decision-making opportunities at progress report/reassessment periods
  • Monitor and track caseload requirements with on-going new referrals
  • Participate in staff development/training opportunities
  • Willingness and ability to work closely with families
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, and experience working with young children in a clinic, home, or community setting
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology with certificate of clinical competence and ASHA certification or CFY candidate working toward these certifications
  • Current Washington State licensure
  • Infant and child CPR, first aid, and blood borne pathogens training within 90 days of hire
  • Upon hire pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check if not in state for more than the past 4 years
Preferred
  • At least one year of pediatric experience
Physical Demands

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is an active job requiring lifting of up to 50 lbs, frequently squatting, sitting on the floor and active work with children. Incumbent may come into contact with bodily fluid.
