Qualifications

Position Summary

The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats children with speech, language, communication, feeding, and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans designed to improve communication skills and support functional development. This role works collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, feeding, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation and patient needs.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy interventions to improve communication and functional skills.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Educate and counsel parents and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home.
  • Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
  • Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings when appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with all clinical documentation standards, regulatory requirements, and practice policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay current with developments in speech-language pathology and pediatric therapy practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Licensure
  • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred or eligible.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
Experience
  • Experience working with pediatric populations preferred.
  • Experience in medical or outpatient therapy settings preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Standard office environment within a medical practice.
  • Frequent use of computers and telephones.
  • Occasional lifting of files, office supplies, or equipment (up to 20 lbs).
Compensation
  • Benefits package offered which include health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) and life insurance.

Salary: $49/hr - $62/hr - salary scale is based on experience.
