Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician to compound and prepare pharmaceuticals for specialty and ambulatory patients under pharmacist supervision. You will maintain pharmacy areas and ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory guidelines.

The role requires a High School Diploma (or GED), basic computer and calculation skills, and PA Pharmacy Technician licensure upon hire or trainee status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in PA required on hire.
• Pharmacy Technician Trainee role also required on hire.
• Basic computer skills including Windows and word processing.
• Calculation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely compounding and preparation of pharmaceuticals for specialty patients.
• Prepare new and refill prescriptions per CHOP policy.
• Complete documentation for compounding and quality control per guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels and storage conditions with 100% accuracy.
• Assist with patient calls and communication with medical staff.
• Coordinate prescription delivery scheduling.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Specialty Pharmacy Management.
