Job summary

Dayton Children's in Dayton, OH, is looking for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join the Specialty Pediatrics II team on the Day shift. The role supports nurses in providing developmentally appropriate patient care, while maintaining a safe and family-centered environment.

Responsibilities include measuring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and transporting patients safely. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of hospital STNA experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years STNA experience in hospital setting preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care activities aligned with developmental levels.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide safe transportation.
• Cross-train to support clinical and clerical functions.
• Report patient information and maintain confidentiality per hospital policy.
