Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant to support the Specialty Pediatrics team on the Main Campus. The role involves assisting the nurse with patient care activities, monitoring vital signs, and helping with daily living tasks, while maintaining confidentiality and patient safety.

The PCA will promote a family-centered experience and collaborate with clinical and clerical teams in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required.
• 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in completion of patient care activities.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide safe transportation and environment.
• Cross trained to support the clinical and clerical sides of the business.
