Job summary

Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator for the Specialty Clinic to coordinate the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules and to serve as the first contact for hospitals and surgery centers.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance benefits, obtaining pre-certifications, scheduling pre-op/pre-admit/post-op appointments, and organizing provider meetings. Proficiency with Epic and MS Outlook is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of clerical experience in a medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care
• Verifies insurance benefits
• Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization as required
• Coordinates and schedules patient appointments to include pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments
• Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings
• Maintains, coordinates and manipulates provider clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, CME, vacation, court appearance, attorney depositions and all other meetings for the provider, using both Epic and MS Outlook programs

Education
