Job summary

Shriners Children's in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to work with the Admissions Coordinator, Dental Care Manager, dentists and patient guardians to ensure pediatric patients are screened and scheduled for surgical or dental services.

You will collect medical information at admission, coordinate preadmission testing and outpatient visits, and liaise with departments and primary care physicians to secure resources while educating families about the dental process.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

• Schedules or re-schedules clinic appointments in SHCIS accurately and timely.
• Insures outpatients scheduled for visits are registered in SHCIS and that labels, itinerary, and ID sheet are placed in front of chart.
• Sends written notifications of regularly scheduled appointments to patients and their families.
• Gives verbal notification of add-ons and unscheduled appointments to nursing staff upon patient's arrival to clinic.
• Orients all new patients and families to OPD and explain HIPAA/clinic forms prior to completion of initial appointment.
