Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks a Respiratory Therapist to support pediatric critical care, step-down, and general care areas.

You will assess, initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, perform bronchial hygiene and oxygen therapy, and collaborate with the ICU team in a fast-paced environment. NBRC eligibility and state licensure are required or pursued, with PALS/NRP preferred and ACLS encouraged.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required and state licensure by ASBRT with NBRC registration or NPS credential.
• PALS and NRP preferred and mandatory within 12 months.
• BLS preferred for hire and required within orientation (not to exceed 90 days).
• ACLS preferred.
• Clinical respiratory experience in pediatric/critical care including ventilation initiation and support.
• Experience with intubation and pediatric transport preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in pediatric critical care, step-down and general care areas.
• Initiate and support mechanical ventilation as needed.
• Perform bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy and respiratory diagnostics.
• Communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities quickly.
