Job summary

Corewell Health's Dearborn Hospital Pediatric Care Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts. The unit serves Pediatric and Women’s Health patients with dedicated beds and a teaching hospital environment.

The RN will provide professional nursing care, plan and evaluate patient care, and teach patients and families while documenting in the health record. Experience in pediatrics and acute care is valued; MI RN licensure and BLS/PALS are required or soon after hire.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one year experience.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required or if new grad within 60 days of hire
• AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire/transfer
• PALS required within 1 year of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• 1 year of experience as an RN preferred. Highly prefer Pediatric RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process and patient-family centered care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge care in collaboration with the care team.
• Teach patients and families and document education in the health record.
