Job summary

Corewell Health seeks a part-time Pediatric Care RN for the Royal Oak Hospital unit. The role supports a 70-bed unit with 8 pediatric progressive beds, performing nursing care from assessment to discharge for diverse pediatric diagnoses.

The RN collaborates with a wide healthcare team, provides patient-family education, and adheres to hospital policies. Night shifts run 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with 24 weekly hours and alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• Bachelors in Nursing must be completed within 5 years for new grads.
• Must have MI RN licensure and NCLEX passed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire/transfer.
• PALS required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Specialty certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
• At least 1 year of acute care RN experience; pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per ANA framework and nursing process.
• Partner with patients and families, plan, implement, evaluate and discharge.
• Document education and learning in health records and ensure patient-family involvement.

Education

Associates or Diploma in Nursing

Bachelor's in Nursing within 5 years

NCLEX licensure

AHA BLS required

PALS within 1 year

Specialty Certification recommended

Acute care RN experience

Pediatric experience preferred
