Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Resource Team on nights. The role requires a BSN (or equivalent experience), Illinois RN licensure, and BLS certification.

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop care plans with families, and coordinate with physicians and staff. This position emphasizes teamwork, communication, ongoing education, and adherence to quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN preferred; may hire associates with equivalent experience).
• Current licensed RN in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Special certifications may be required by department.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments using approved methods and tools.
• Develops and updates plans of care with family goals.
• Creates and teaches plans to meet patient and family learning needs.
• Provides nursing care per protocols; responds to emergent situations.
• Communicates with family and multidisciplinary team; coordinates referrals.
• Stays current with nursing literature for problem solving.
• Incorporates quality initiatives into daily work.
• Maintains professional standards of service and image.
• Works as a team to achieve unit and hospital goals.
• Identifies learning needs and seeks resources to advance practice.
• Delivers care with service principles of innovation, excellence and teamwork.
• Familiar with disinfection and sterilization protocols when required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher; deg alternative allowed with equivalent experience.
