Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking a registered nurse to perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and modify care plans with family involvement, and deliver teaching to patients and families.

The role requires current Illinois RN licensure and a BSN (or ADN with equivalent experience in some cases). BLS certification is required, and department-specific certifications may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher; for difficult-to-fill roles, ADN with equivalent experience may be considered.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.
• Special certifications may be required by department.

Responsabilités

• Performs nursing assessments using diverse methods and tools.
• Develops/adjusts care plans with family needs in mind and documents changes.
• Creates teaching plans to meet patient/family learning needs and evaluates progress.
• Executes nursing care per procedures and protocols; responds to emergent situations.
• Communicates health care needs with families and multidisciplinary team; coordinates referrals.
