Job summary

Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking an Experienced ICU Registered Nurse for the Night shift to join the Resource Team in Streeterville. The role requires a BSN or higher, IL RN licensure, BLS, and strong communication with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.

You will perform bedside assessments, develop and update care plans, educate families, and collaborate to meet unit goals while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required; for difficult-to-fill roles, ASN with experience may be considered.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians and hospital staff.
• Special certifications may be required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and/or area-specific tools.
• Develops or individualizes plans of care and evaluates changes to the plan.
• Develops or individualizes teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs.
• Performs nursing care according to procedures/protocols and intervenes in emergent situations.
• Communicates with the family and multidisciplinary team to identify health care needs.
