Job summary

UHS seeks an experienced Registered Nurse in Texas to lead nursing care for patients undergoing medical conditions or procedures. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate care while ensuring safety and adherence to hospital standards.

The role requires current Texas RN licensure (compact accepted), BLS, and unit-specific certifications; BSN preferred. You may interact with various departments and may work some weekends and on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Texas RN license or compact/state-specific license; temporary Texas RN license acceptable while awaiting permanent license.
• BSN preferred; associate degree, diploma or equivalent nursing program completion required.
• Must have and maintain BLS; current ARC/AHA certifications as applicable (CPR/BCLS; PALS/ENPC as required).
• New graduate RNs may provide documentation from their RN program validating completion of nursing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with facility policies and philosophy.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team and oversee supervised nursing staff.
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments to address patient care concerns and resolutions.
• May work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call/call-back status as needed.
