Job summary

Shriners Children's Chicago is seeking a full-time night shift Pediatric Registered Nurse for our Inpatient Unit. The role includes coordinating nursing care, educating patients and families, and supporting transitions of care in a family-centered environment.

The position offers 12-hour shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am), 72 hours bi-weekly, with every other weekend. A BSN or in-progress degree, Illinois RN license, and BLS/PALS certifications are required; pediatric orthopedic/plastics experience and

Qualifications

• BSN degree or in progress.
• Illinois RN license.
• BLS and PALS certifications from American Heart Association.
• 2+ years acute care hospital RN experience (preferred).
• Pediatric orthopedic/plastics experience (preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care for pediatric inpatients, including direct patient care and family education.
• Manage transitions of care in a family-centered environment.
• Provide formal and informal leadership as a preceptor and through quality improvement efforts.
• Exposure to Orthopedics, Spinal Cord Injury, Rehabilitation and Cleft Lip/Palate service lines.
