Nexus Children's Hospital - Shenandoah is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor to provide clinical and operational leadership across the hospital.

In this role you will oversee nursing teams, manage patient flow, staffing, and escalation of care during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, while ensuring compassionate, safe, and patient-centered care for children with complex medical and behavioral health needs.

Competenze

• ADN from an accredited nursing program required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience.
• 1–2 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in acute care.
• Experience caring for patients with complex medical or behavioral health diagnoses preferred.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS certifications as required by unit.
• De-escalation training within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lead operations in a fast-paced, complex clinical environment.

• Provide hospital-wide clinical and administrative leadership during assigned shifts.
• Serve as primary nursing and administrative resource during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Provide clinical oversight and support to nursing teams across hospital units.
• Monitor patient acuity, staffing levels, and adjust resources.
• Coordinate patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Respond to emergencies, critical incidents, changes in patient condition, and urgent staffing needs.
• Participate in clinical rounds and escalation of care.
• Promote evidence-based nursing practices and unit policies.
• Facilitate communication between nursing, physicians, therapy, behavioral health, admissions, and other hospital departments.
• Address patient and family concerns and resolve issues.
• Promote compassionate, culturally competent, and patient-centered care.
• Conduct safety rounds and support hospital quality, regulatory, and accreditation initiatives.
• Assist with investigation and follow-up of incidents, near misses, and patient complaints.
• Collaborate with Quality and Risk Management to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coach, mentor, and support nursing staff in clinical decision-making and professional development.
• Assist staffing decisions, including overtime and agency utilization, while maintaining safe patient care.
• Promote responsible stewardship of hospital resources and supplies.
• Serve as a role model for clinical excellence, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
