Job summary
The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking an experienced pediatric registered nurse to join the Pediatric Float Pool in Charlottesville, VA. This role offers opportunities to work across PICU, Acute Pediatrics, and the Pediatric Emergency Department, delivering high-quality, family-centered care with a strong interdisciplinary team.
Ideal candidates will have 1 year of relevant pediatric nursing experience, a BSN within five years, and Virginia RN licensure with BLS.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- BSN required within 5 years of hire.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based, family-centered care to pediatric patients across inpatient and emergency settings.
- Care for patients across PICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric Emergency Department based on census and acuity.
- Collaborate with pediatric physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adapt to different unit workflows while maintaining quality, safety, and communication.
- Serve as a clinical resource during high-volume periods and staffing needs.
