UVA Health Children’s Hospital is seeking experienced pediatric RNs for its Pediatric Float Pool, offering the opportunity to apply expertise across PICU, Acute Pediatrics, and the Pediatric Emergency Department while remaining part of a cohesive, well supported nursing team.

The role emphasizes delivering family-centered care, collaborating with pediatric teams, and adapting to varying unit workflows with high-quality standards across multiple high-acuity pediatric environments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based, family centered care to pediatric patients across inpatient and emergency settings.
• Apply your pediatric experience to manage a wide range of acuity, from medically complex acute care to critical illness.
• Collaborate closely with pediatric physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Adapt to different unit workflows while maintaining consistent standards of quality, safety, and communication.
• Serve as a reliable clinical resource during high-volume periods and staffing needs.
