Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking experienced pediatric nurses for UVA Health Children's Hospital Pediatric Float Pool. This role spans PICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED, allowing experienced RNs to move confidently between units from the outset.

You will provide safe, family-centered care across high-acuity pediatric environments, collaborating with physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, family centered care to pediatric patients across inpatient and emergency settings.
• Apply pediatric experience to manage a wide range of acuity from acute to critical illness.
• Collaborate with pediatric physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Adapt to different unit workflows while maintaining standards of quality, safety, and communication.
• Serve as a reliable clinical resource during high-volume periods and staffing needs.
