Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse RN to deliver patient-centered care under a health care provider’s direction. The role emphasizes safety, documentation in the EHR, and adherence to licensing and HIPAA guidelines.

The RN will assist with exams and minor procedures, administer vaccines and medications, perform phlebotomy, and participate in care coordination with referrals while supervising LPNs and CMAs where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• College diploma or degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider and clinical staff with preparing patients for examination and procedures.
• Demonstrates clinical competence to carry out duties.
• May draw and collect blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Apply Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Provide telephone triage and home-care guidance; conduct follow-up calls.
• Administer vaccines and medications by oral, IM, SQ, or ID routes.
• Place urinary catheters and IVs per protocol.
• Schedule referrals to specialists or outpatient services.
• Complete forms for referrals or labs with CPT/ICD-9 coding.
• Document in the patient’s electronic health record using standardized workflows.
• Supervise delegated duties to LPN and CMA on approved protocols.
