Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital seeks a Respiratory Care Department Supervisor to oversee clinical services for respiratory care and ECMO, ensuring quality and staffing adequacy across programs. You will supervise RTs and ECMO staff, provide direct patient care, and guide clinical practice development.

Requirements include 4+ years as a licensed RT with pediatric experience, ECMO training, and Massachusetts RT licensure along with NBRC RRT-NPS certification. A strong leadership presence is essential.

Qualifications

• 4 years of licensed respiratory therapy clinical experience, with at least 3 years in pediatric specialty.
• ECMO training completed with pediatric ECMO experience.
• Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
• NBRC RRT-NPS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists across clinical programs and settings.
• Evaluate staff performance; counsel staff and use disciplinary measures to improve performance.
• Oversee operations of the Respiratory Care Department and ECMO Program, staffing, equipment, and resources.
• Provide direct respiratory care and consultative ECMO services.
• Lead development and evaluation of clinical procedures and promote professionalism.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and represent the department in clinical programs.
