Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a seasoned Respiratory Care Department Supervisor to lead respiratory therapy and ECMO staff in a pediatric-focused environment. The role supervises staff, evaluates performance, and ensures high-quality patient care across programs.

You will oversee staffing and equipment, provide direct clinical care and consultation, drive clinical practice development, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4 years of clinical experience as a licensed respiratory therapist with a minimum of three years in a pediatric specialty.
• Completion of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation training.
• Associates Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in a complementary field required; Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
• Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists across clinical programs and settings.
• Evaluates staff performance and counsels staff to improve performance.
• Oversees operations of the Respiratory Care Department and ECMO Program; maintains staffing and equipment levels and resources.
• Provides direct respiratory care and extracorporeal life support.
• Leads development and evaluation of clinical practice, procedures, and professionalism.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and represents the department to clinical programs.
