Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 0.9 FTE weekend program at Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center. The role includes night shifts (6:30pm-7am) with weekend work and weekly hours totaling 36. A sign-on bonus and other incentives are available.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, ventilator management, therapies per orders, education, and collaboration with care teams. Licensure and NBRC credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with at least an associate degree.
• No prior experience required.
• Licensure as an RCP with NBRC credentials or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Use respiratory therapy processes to assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics and related data.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-critical care areas and assist physicians.
• Provide prescribed medications and therapies per orders.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and ensure safety.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose and self-care.
• Collaborate with other departments to support patient care.
