Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full-time dayshift (12-hour) position. You will provide respiratory care per physician orders, support patient education, and collaborate with physicians, nurses and the respiratory care team.

Required AS/BS in Respiratory Therapy, Michigan license, RRT within 1 year, and BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications. 36 hours weekly; sign-on and retention bonuses available.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Respiratory Therapy required; BS preferred.
• Michigan license to practice respiratory therapy is required.
• RRT credential within 12 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care per physician orders and policies.
• Evaluate patient status and discuss therapy with providers and nurses.
• Perform blood gas analysis and ventilator management per protocol.
• Explain therapy to patients and assess response to treatment.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in Code Blue as needed.
• Maintain equipment readiness and participate in education for staff.
