Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a research associate to study how cell nucleus organization relates to pediatric tumor biology.

The role is 40 hours per week, with 20% spent on administrative tasks (reagent ordering, lab database management) and 80% on bench research (reagent preparation, tissue culture, in situ hybridization, immunostaining, data analysis, figure preparation, manuscript writing).

Qualifications

• Requires full 4-year degree in a scientific major or related field.
• 3 years lab/bench or related experience acceptable with appropriate education/experience mix.
• 1 year lab/bench or related experience acceptable with appropriate education/experience mix.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tasks to support research aims.
• Follow protocols and set up basic experiments.
• Analyze data and troubleshoot protocols to improve accuracy.
• Maintain detailed records and organize data for presentation.
• Prepare charts/graphs for publications and presentations.
• Conduct literature searches to support research.
• Assist in grant applications, manuscripts, and publications.
• Track lab supply expenses and verify invoices.
