Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse II for the Duke Children's Primary Care South Durham clinic in Durham, NC. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, participate in clinic committees, and support professional development.

The position supports advancement on the clinical ladder, teamwork across the care team, and ongoing quality improvement efforts in a pediatric primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN/ADN/diploma program; some hires with prior categories must enroll in BSN within specified timeline.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina (or Compact license with NC licensure within 90 days if needed).
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Pediatrics experience preferred.
• Epic or similar electronic charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care using the nursing process per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed/unlicensed staff; act as team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
• Support professional development and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Serve as a preceptor for staff and students; complete patient documents as needed.
• Participate in ongoing clinical/operational improvement opportunities.
