Job summary

St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to evaluate, plan, implement and document patient status for pediatric care. The role requires licensure in NYS and BLS certification, with at least one year of pediatric experience.

Responsibilities include developing and revising care plans, coordinating with physicians and the care team, and ensuring compliant documentation. Base pay is listed and generous benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of pediatric physical therapy experience or pediatric affiliation.
• Licensed in NYS as a Physical Therapist.
• BLS Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy in accordance with the physician's and team's plan of care.
• Assists in assessing patient’s functional level and develops/modifies the plan of care.
• Treats patients to relieve pain and restore function using PT modalities and procedures.
• Records and reports patient responses and changes to treatment to the care team.
• Instructs patients, families and health team on PT techniques and use of equipment.
• Evaluates and revises rehabilitation needs and discharge plans for patients.
• Initiates diagnostic, preventative and rehabilitative procedures as appropriate.
• Coordinates total plan of care with other health professionals.
• Provides periodic treatment and evaluation for patients and final evaluation on termination of services.
• Maintains patient care progress records and submits evaluation reports within 48 hours.
