Job summary

Eyas Landing - Avondale seeks a Physical Therapist Department Lead to oversee a team and deliver therapy to children within the Merlin Day Academy, a fully integrated educational and therapeutic environment for children with ASD, ADHD, sensory processing issues, and other neurodiverse needs.

As the PT Department Lead, you will mentor a team of Physical Therapists, support mobility and functional independence growth, and collaborate with OTs and SLPs to ensure cohesive care plans and family

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Active Illinois Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) license through IDFPR.
• Experience providing behavior therapy services to children with autism and/or other neurodevelopmental differences.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized therapy and therapeutic rotations.
• Implementing therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and IRM.
• Collaborating daily with occupational and speech therapists, as well as social workers.
• Documenting progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care.
• Providing mentorship, clinical guidance, and feedback to Physical Therapists to ensure consistency in care delivery and growth.

Physical Therapist Department Lead / Supervisor (PT) - Therapeutic Day Program

3319 N. Elston Ave. Chicago, IL | Clinic-Based | Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm - no evenings or weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

• Total Compensation Package: Valued between $98,000-$111,000.
• Annual Salary: $80,000–$90,000, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

Eyas Landing - Avondale offers a unique opportunity to provide therapy through our Merlin Day Academy, a fully integrated educational and therapeutic environment for children ages 6-14 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs.

As a Physical Therapist (PT) Department Lead / Supervisor at Eyas Landing - Avondale, you will provide physical therapy to children and families while overseeing a team of Physical Therapists. You'll foster each child's mobility, gross motor development, and functional independence growth.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized therapy and therapeutic rotations.
• Implementing therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Developmental Treatment, Motor Skills Acquisition, and Intentional Relationship Model (IRM).
• Collaborating daily with occupational and speech therapists, as well as social workers.
• Documenting progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care.
• Providing mentorship, clinical guidance, and performance feedback to Physical Therapists to ensure consistency in care delivery and growth.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
• Active Illinois Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) license through IDFPR
• Experience providing behavior therapy services to children with autism and/or other neurodevelopmental differences

Working Environment and Physical Demands

• Ability to lift at least 35 lbs, including but not limited to lifting children, therapy equipment etc.
• Ability to walk and/or run if needed to keep clients safe.
• Ability to implement behavior management techniques, based on training provided by the company.
• Ability to use hands and arms to prepare and perform required therapy tasks.
• Ability to utilize keyboard, desktop, and ipad to complete documentation required for funders.
