Job summary

Child Health Associates in Auburn, MA is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our pediatric laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture and blood collection on pediatric patients and contribute to a positive patient and family experience.

This role goes beyond drawing blood; you will be trained to participate in the daily operation of the lab, including processing specimens, performing approved tests, operating equipment, and maintaining supplies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on phlebotomy experience required.
• Strong venipuncture skills required.
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience strongly preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood collection on pediatric patients.
• Work with infants, children, adolescents, and families to create a calm blood-draw experience.
• Select appropriate collection tubes and ensure specimens are collected correctly.
• Accurately label and handle specimens.
• Follow procedures for patient identification, specimen collection, and infection control.
• Recognize collection issues and take appropriate steps when specimens cannot be obtained.
