Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the Pediatrics department. You will perform venipuncture, collect specimens from newborns to adults, and ensure proper specimen labeling and handling in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with inventory, answering calls, and providing support to Billing and other departments. Requires high school graduate and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification and ensures patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from patients of all ages.
• Labeling and proper handling of specimens for testing.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines.
• Answers calls and supports inventory and billing functions.
• Trains staff in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
