Joseph Michaels International in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and workflow improvements within a pediatric-focused laboratory.

The position requires pediatric venipuncture experience and a valid phlebotomy certification, with a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid state phlebotomy certification; 6 months venipuncture in a fast-paced lab or hospital
• High School diploma or GED; proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsabilités

• Experience performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, and maintaining data records
• Collect and store specimens per procedures; prepare samples for transport
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients; demonstrate technique with needles
• Understand physician orders and match requisitions to specimens
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Package specimens for transport and ensure specimen integrity and compliance with OSHA/ DEP regulations
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer telephone inquiries and relay lab results as needed
