Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract opportunity with potential for permanent placement. The role requires performing blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and proper specimen handling under pediatric-focused guidelines, with a Monday to Friday 8am–5pm schedule.

Candidates should have 3 to 4 years of pediatric phlebotomy experience, a valid state phlebotomy certification, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process in a clear but courteous manner and demonstrates technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage and transport conditions.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries about results.
