Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I (FULL-TIME) in Lakeland, FL to join the Admitting team. This role focuses on accurate registration, insurance verification, and collecting patient responsibility at the time of service.

You will update demographics, verify eligibility, explain forms, and support clinical operations with a flexible schedule and cross-training with the Emergency Room. A high school diploma and customer service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Healthcare experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Medical Office/Call Center experience.
• Travel to other locations required.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate registration and collect patient responsibility at the time of service.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine financial responsibility with a good faith estimate when applicable.
• Verify and update demographics, PCP and/or referral information as needed for each encounter.
• Explain all essential and legal forms for each service type and ensure HIPAA privacy compliance.
• Cross-train to support the Patient Financial Services department and assist with related duties.
